Lori Davis

Lori Davis has devoted her career as a psychologist to supporting college students in their personal, professional and academic development. Before joining the Department of Landscape Architecture, she worked in Student Affairs at the Counseling Center and in Academic Affairs in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, both at the University of Illinois. Lori strives to be a mindful adviser, which includes fostering a nonjudgmental attitude, cultivating patience, being receptive to new possibilities, and building trust. While advising is sometimes about selecting classes, providing information, and navigating bureaucratic processes, even then it is grounded in connecting with students where they are and helping them develop as whole people.
