Sasaki Day Lectures

In 1982, the University of Illinois awarded an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree to our alum and beloved former faculty member Hideo Sasaki (BFA LA, 1946). The following year, the Department launched the Sasaki Day Lectures as a way of extending our appreciation of Sasaki's legacy. For more than four decades, many of the most prominent contemporary landscape practitioners have used this annual platform to share insights into their ideas, approaches, and accomplishments.
