Webinar: Katy Kraszewska and Layne Knoche
Designer-in-Residence Katy Kraszewska and BLA alumnus Layne Knoche will address how cities can incorporate basic ecological functions and resilient design practices for green infrastructure while meeting a desired level of visual appeal. By examining a series of successfully implemented urban greenspaces, designers, planners, and city officials can be better informed about emerging practices that increase livability and better serve the diverse needs of urban communities. Discussion of a case example in Illinois—an ongoing, business district streetscape redesign in Gillespie—will illustrate how the implementation of green space and infrastructure can improve the aesthetic value, social value, environmental resiliency, and business prospects of a small community.
This webinar is being offered by the University of Illinois Extension.
