how are landscape architecture students improving our world?
Etienne Sirois, a student in the University of Illinois Department of Landscape Architecture, is playing a pivotal role in bridging the gap between classroom theory and community revitalization. Serving as the Project Manager for “Beacon,” a student-led initiative in Rantoul, IL, Etienne is helping lead a multidisciplinary team to build a net-zero, affordable home in partnership with Habitat for Humanity.
The Beacon project is a vision for a sustainable future where affordability and energy efficiency coexist to help and uplift entire neighborhoods.
