Former Department Head Vincent Bellafiore passed away on May 2, 2014. Vince's leadership as head from 1985-2000, and faculty member until 2007, gave our department stability, strength, and cohesion.  Vince began his career at the design firm Sasaki, Dawson, and Demay and went on to serve the profession as President of the American Society of Landscape Architects in 1995-96. He was named an ASLA Fellow in 1989 and a Fellow of the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture in 2012. He leaves an enduring legacy.

Visiting Designer-in-ResidenceTawab Hlimi's submission of the proposed project "Carolinian Way" was one of two winning projects chosen by the David Suzuki Foundation Homegrown Design Challenge (Toronto). It was exhibited at the Urbanspace Gallery in Toronto in summer 2014.
