The 2017 Department of Landscape Architecture Professional Development (PD) Workshops and Career Fair will take place at the Morton Arboretum, Lisle, IL, on Friday, March 10.
Two Professional Development Workshops will be offered from 9:00AM to 12:00PM at the Education Center. Each session will be 90 minutes long and will provide 1.5 PD hours (3.0 hours total). One session—"Landscapes and Human Health"—will be given led by Department Head William Sullivan. The second session—"Environmental Responses in the Early Middle East: How to Squeeze Water from a Stone"—will be led by Professor D. Fairchild Ruggles.
The Career Fair will be held from 1:00PM to 5:00 PM at the Morton Arboretum's Education Center. BLA and MLA students will arrive between 12:00 noon and 1:00PM. They will bring copies of their resumés and portfolios and will meet with practitioners between 1:00PM and 4:00PM. Some students will be seeking internships, others full-time positions.
A Reception for firms, students, alumni, and faculty--generously sponsored by the Illinois chapter of ASLA--will follow from 4:30PM to 6:00PM. This will be an opportunity to meet informally with potential employees and your colleagues.
The fee for the PD Workshops is $40. The fee for the Career Fair is $50. All are invited to the Reception. There is no charge for parking.
